Did someone turn on the microwave and the tv shut off? You might want to check the breakers to see if one has been tripped. If not though, it;s best to call an electrician, because aything more complicated than inspecting your breakers can be dangerous and left to a pro.

Do you have one or two outlets in a room that suddenly stopped working? That one might be a GFCI. Not sure what a GFCI Outlet is? It’s an outlet with a little breaker button on the front. They are designed to keep people safe around water. They can trip during sudden surges in electricity though. So if you have what seems like a partial power outage in your house, take a quick look at your outlets. A GFCI tripping can cause an outage. It might save you a call to your friendly, neighborhood 24/7 electrician.

Finally, if something stops working and uses a surge protector. Check that. A simple push of a button can make things normal again.
